The Heights of Carillon
  8 July 1758   Scale: 1:30, weather: fine, start: ?, dark: 11pm, time scale: 1 game turn = 20 minutes

Background:
A substantial British force has finally gathered to capture Fort Carillon ( Ticonderoga ), and open up the French colony to Britain. The British commander has however been told that 3000 additional French troops are on their way to reinforce the French at the fort, so time is of the essence and the fort must be taken without delay. From the French perspective, if fort Carillon falls, the British will be able to penetrate to the heart of the French colony. The French are outnumbered but have had time to construct a formidable abatis on the heights.

Game Notes:
Roll D10 for the non-rated Generals

The efficiency rating off all Indians drops to Conscript when out of the woods. All troops behind the abatis count as being behind hard cover for shooting purposes, and as defending a linear obstacle for melee purposes. The fort has 2 batteries of 6 x 6pdrs, each counting as 3 stands (3/2/1), but these can only fire in the area marked with the dotted line. The British troops are under order to attack and capture the fort without delay. They must attack. The regiments can be rearranged into commands for the number of generals available.

Objective:
British: Defeat the French and capture the fort.
French: Beat off the British.
